Does Your Pet Need A Large Wooden Dog House?
There are many of us that have built wooden dog houses before, and very few of us have ever built them so simplistic that they really did not have unnecessary items included. There may be times whenever you are interested in building a large wooden dog house, and adding on a lot of different items in order to make your pet as comfortable as possible. Some people would even take these things to an extreme, such as installing a wooden dog house balcony or other luxury item. Is it really necessary to build wooden dog houses such as this in order to make your pet comfortable?
One of the first things that really needs to be kept in mind whenever building wooden dog houses is the fact that animals do not really need a lot of additional room in order to be comfortable. As a matter of fact, the opposite is often true and if you have a house that is too large for the dog, it can actually be difficult for them to get warm in the winter time. It is also true that dogs tend to live very little of their life outside of a small set area that they feel comfortable in. That is why you will often see caged animals, including dogs, wearing out the grass around the edge of the fence whenever they rarely ever go into the center of the yard to enjoy that additional space. That is why it is a good idea for you to draw up simple dog house plans in advance and to really ask yourself what the dog would need in order to be comfortable. There are dog house kits that are available which can assist you in building these dog houses, and to keep you from going to overboard in your design. Although it still may be a good idea for you to have a two-story dog house, as some dogs will use the stairs in order to get up to the second floor, this is not always going to be necessary to provide for the basic needs for your animal.
You also need to consider the fact that very few of us have dogs that are going to be outside on a continual basis. Although we may have a large wooden dog house available for them when they are outside, the vast majority of them are going to spend their lives inside of our home enjoying our conditioned environment and perhaps even sleeping on our sofas. It is nice to have a dog house on the outside for them, but it is not always going to be necessary for them to live in it.
Wooden dog houses are an excellent choice, mainly because they give the average homeowner the opportunity to build one of these houses on their own. You can even upgrade to more of a large wooden dog house, and provided you don't go overboard, you can build one of these yourself in a weekend. It really all depends on your needs and why you're building the dog house in the first place. Just make sure that you keep things simple as that, and you would be surprised with how well the house will be received.
